Kerry Shannon, the founder of Pretty Picklers developed a love for pickleball shortly after her husband and son built a court at their home in New Jersey. During the summer of 2019, after retiring from her job as a preschool teacher, Kerry invited a few friends over to play pickleball. A small group of picklers then formed, many in anticipation of becoming “empty nesters.” The Prettty Picklers’ team took off from there, and now Kerry has two home courts, with the group currently at over 180 members. The Pretty Picklers practice daily, train weekly, enter matches and local tournaments, and plan to travel to Florida together to play in a tournament in early 2021. The team also participates in numerous service projects, including hosting charity tournaments: together, “We Serve." In creating the Pretty Picklers, Kerry has shared her passion for pickleball by forming a unique community of friends who support the team's mission of promoting pickleball in a fun and inclusive environment!
The Pretty Picklers can be found on the their home courts in Far Hills, New Jersey Spring, Summer and Fall. Many of the PP also play at the Jersey Shore.
